Congaree Outfitters Opens Riverfront Flagship in Downtown Columbia

Columbia, South Carolina — Congaree Outfitters today announced the opening of its flagship store on Columbia's Congaree riverfront, the outdoor company's first permanent location after several years of running guided paddling trips across the Midlands.

The new shop pairs kayak and paddleboard rentals with a full gear selection and an on-site repair bar, and will serve as the launch point for the company's guided trips on the Congaree, Saluda and Broad rivers.

Rooted in the Midlands

Founders say the riverfront location was chosen for its direct access to the water and its ties to Columbia's growing outdoor-recreation scene. The company works with local guides and sources gear from regional makers where possible.

The store is open daily, with a season of community paddle events planned across the Midlands.
